People seem to like this antenna type which looks like umbrella from overhead point of view. There is almost no need for tuner and it provides large area of coverage. Is it recommended for daily usage? How important is it to have a maypole antenna to support the regular broadcasts?

I have never heard of the maypole antenna before and this is enough reason to start reading about it. The fact that it is umbrella shaped besides providing a large coverage area is already drawing a lot curiosity for me.
Indeed, nothing can ever come in the way of an idea whose time has come.

I read more about it, and this maypole antenna actually consists of several dipole antennas organized in umbrella shape. Each can be set for specific operating frequencies so it increases our coverage. It's simpler to manage and tune because they have one integrated center.
