It's hard to imagine no sunspots. I followed that link today and there are currently 81 sunspots, so activity has increased considerably since you posted.

I am not sure I understand all of this 'sunspot' talk. Specifically, how it all pertains to ham radio. Or is there no significance here?

Sunspots vary from day to day and hour to hour. Actually it is a very complex study...

Many folks spend a lot of time following and making comments on this subject. In fact, some hams study sunspot cause and effects full time.

From what I understand, sunspots effect the electromagnetic currents in the air. The elctromagnetic currents effect the transmissions of everything from cell phones to television broadcasts.
