I was reading about several articles here and I was wondering if in the past countries had used radio as well to communicate with each other. I suppose perhaps it was used in war for internal purposes. I was curious about whether there was a kind of joint broadcast for positive reasons which benefit both countries in a sense.

My first thought here is aid agencies. Maybe the Red Cross has done this before in countries where battery operated radios were the logical choice where little or no electricity or cell signals are avalable.

Ham radio activities were suspended during World War era. Some people were even arrested because the government thought they were involved in spy activities with their broadcasts. After the wars ended, activities returned to normal. There was even an International Radiotelegraph Conference in US as proofs of successful international contacts.
