Propagation de K7RA

22 December, 2012
ARLP051

It is Friday, December 21, 2012, and the world did not end. To herald this non-event, NASA even produced a wonderful video explaining how the whole thing was a misconception anyway. The Mayan calendar is like an odometer, and when it gets to 999999, it just roles over to 0 and begins anew.....

Propagation de K7RA

29 December, 2012
ARLP052

An error crept into data reported in last week's bulletin. Solar flux on December 19 was 113.4, not 117.5. The average for the week, 117.5, was transposed into the solar flux number for the last day of the reporting period. The Winter Solstice was on the date of the last Propagation Forecast Bulletin, ARLP051, on Friday December 21, at 1112z...

Sunspot numbers and solar flux barely changed in the past week.
Average daily sunspot numbers were 55.7, down slightly from 56.4 the
previous week, and average daily solar flux was 98.7, down from 110.7. Geomagnetic conditions continued their quiet spell.....

Propagation de K7RA

16 February, 2013
ARLP007

Low levels of solar activity continue, the same as the past few weeks. Sunspot numbers remain remarkably consistent, with average daily numbers for the four reporting weeks since January 17 at 56.4, 55.7, 50.7 and finally 51.3 for the past week. As you can see, average daily sunspot numbers rose less than a point from the previous week to the past week. Average daily solar flux receded 2.4 points to 104. Geomagnetic conditions remain calm.....

Average daily sunspot numbers over the past seven days, February 14-20, rose modestly by 27 points to 78.3. Average daily solar flux was up marginally, only 1.6 points to 105.6. Geomagnetic indices rose also, with the planetary A index from 5.6 to 6.4, and the middle latitude A index from 5.1 to 6. This is compared to the previous seven days.....

Average daily sunspot numbers over the past week (March 14-20) were up 16.2 points to 101.1, while average daily solar flux remained about the same, rising from 118.5 to 119. An eruption on March 15 caused a CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) which struck Earth on March 17, causing the planetary A index to jump to 46.....

Propagation de K7RA

8 June, 2013

Solar activity seems to dip back into the doldrums again, with the average sunspot number for the past week (72) lower than any reporting week since Propagation Forecast Bulletin ARLP013, which was for the week of March 21-27. You can go through the recent bulletins at http://www.arrl.org/w1aw-bulletins-archive-propagation and note that two weeks ago we had twice that number, when the average daily sunspot number was 144. From last week, the average dropped more than 12 points from 94.3. Average daily solar flux was down more than 10 points to 107.6.....http://www.southgatearc.org/propagation/2013/k7ra/023_june_08.htm#.UbNh_frCd6o
